Fall

Fall flowers in warm autumn colors

When the heat breaks, warm colors take over. Call and ask a florist about fall bouquets, mums and centerpieces.

Autumn in eastern Oklahoma

Fall in Muskogee usually starts slow. September can still be hot, then October brings cooler nights, football games and the first color in the Cookson Hills to the east. Fall flowers pick up those warm tones: rust, orange, burgundy, gold and cream.

Mums are the classic fall plant on porches all over town. Fall bouquets often mix roses, sunflowers, dahlias and seeded eucalyptus. Ask what is in season, since availability shifts through the fall.

Fall is also homecoming season. See homecoming mums. For later in the season, see our Thanksgiving flowers page.
