Sending flowers to Vian
Vian is a Sequoyah County town at the crossing of US 64 and State Highway 82, just north of Interstate 40 and west of Sallisaw. It grew from a trading post between Big and Little Vian creeks and became a cotton shipping point when the railroad came through in 1888.
Vian is close to Tenkiller Lake and the Illinois River country, so families there often celebrate at the lake as much as in town. The Tenkiller State Park page on TravelOK (opens in a new tab) covers the park nearby.
