Flowers for a retirement, after years of work

Thirty years at the plant, the school or the hospital deserves a send-off. Call and plan flowers for the party or the last day.

Marking the last day

Muskogee has a lot of long careers, at the schools, the hospitals, the VA, the port, the railroad and the factories. When someone retires, the last day often includes a cake in the break room and a party at a church hall or a restaurant.

A bright arrangement on the desk on the final day is a classic gift. For the party, centerpieces or a larger arrangement near the cake table make the room feel special. A plant is also popular, since it can go home and keep growing in retirement.

If a team is chipping in, decide on the card wording first. Something like, From all of us in the front office, lets the retiree know who was thinking of them.

Tips for a send-off

  • Ask about the event

Tell the florist the party date, the venue and how many tables.

  • Go big from a group

Team gifts can be larger arrangements.

  • Think of hobbies

A gardener may love a plant more than cut flowers.
